Begins Thursday in Motley

Demolition Derbies, an ATV Pull, exhibits, contests, special events,
food and drinks and an improved carnival will highlight the events
held at the Motley Morrison County Fair.

Motley's Fair is known as the longest running fair in Morrison County.
It held its first county fair in 1910 and has since been a designated
official Morrison County Fair.

This year the midway will feature Cody Rides from Prior Lake, MN.
The midway will be set up and open on Thursday from 3 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
Saturday the midway will be open noon until 11:30 p.m. Advance tickets at
a discount are also available at various Motley businesses.
Sunday it will be open from Noon till 6:00.

Some other events throughout the fair include: a scarecrow contest,
a Lego masterpiece contest, antique picture contest and a Monster truck on display.
Anyone interested in entering any of the contests must have their entries
at the fair by 5 p.m. Friday.

Saturday has been designated as Kids Day. From 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.
kids ages 5 to 12 will have the opportunity to build a toolbox or a bird feeder.
This event is free and will be held under the shelter.

On Saturday there will be a demolition derby that starts at 7 p.m.
The cost of the event is $8 for adults and $6 for children under 12.

Sunday has been designated as Senior Citizen Day. There will be old time,
country and swing music under the shelter at 2:30 p.m. There will be
free coffee and cookies available. The 4-H awards will be presented at 1 p.m.
in the sheep shelter

One thing for sure, if the weather cooperates, anyone visiting Motley
this coming weekend will have the opportunity to enjoy some great entertainment,
good food and refreshments, exhibits and other fun events at the fair.
